My career has been devoted to making healthy eating easier through developing healthier products and tools that trigger behavioural changes. I love cooking, especially for my 3 little ones; enthusing the next generation to cook and eat well is a real passion of mine.
My practical, commercial and balanced approach to nutrition has been gained from over 17 years of working within the food industry and public health sector. Working across nutrition, marketing, and packaging and product development functions, I am:
I was the project lead for the review of the Nutrient Profiling Model at Public Health England for 9 months, before which I was Sainsbury’s Company Nutritionist for 9 years, where I headed up the Nutrition Team. Responsible for their market leading and nationally renown front of pack nutrition labelling, we achieved the first set of Government salt targets ahead of other retailers, developed a nutrient profiling model, which received recognition and praise from the Secretary of State for Health and introduced the first retail branded 1% fat milk; an achievement that saved customers 92 tonnes of saturated fat in the 1st year of sales alone. At Nestle my pioneering employee healthy eating project, received a BBC Healthy Employer Award. Whilst at Marks & Spencer my Count on us cookbook became the second best selling non-fiction book in the UK.
